Thanks Card

Good afternoon. Spent the morning tagging and packing all of my bazaar projects in plastic storage bins for the vendor events. It feels good to be organized.
This card came together quickly. I love the look of black and white. My Mom always told me that black and white is a classic look. I remember my spectator pumps (black and white) They were my favorite shoes. But I digress. I put a little bit of this and a little bit of that and here it is!
I spent some time this afternoon working on the dominos. These are growing on me. Once I get these done, I can play again. Whoooooooo!!!!!

Final Clothes Pins

Good Afternoon! Here are the last the clothes pins for my bazzars. I loved working with them and now it is on to something else!!!!! I want to thank Lynne for all her help with her tutorial for watermarking my photos. Even an old dog can learn new tricks.
My big job now is getting things lined up to sell. My plan is to get last years projects sold and start working on new ones. I will be working on Altered Pages August challange. I was not sure that I ws going to like it. I am not a Steampunk kind of gal, so when Jean was saying wheels and sprockets, my "Oh no!" came to mind. But little ole me did not think of automobiles. That I can do. So Jean kindley sent me a collage of vintage photos of cars and lo and behold, I remember the models!! As a girl, I new every make and model of every car. Not so today.

So onto the drawing board and my new projects. Will post when I come up with a brilliant idea!!

Altered Clothes Pins

I worked in my studio most of the day. I finished up these clothes pins. They make a nice gift for Christmas. I use mine every day to keep from misplacing important phone numbers and slips of paper that I can never find on my desk!
Tomorrow I will be finishing up my Christmas cards. The cards from 1927 -1940 are so beautiful. I remember my Mom sending out cards like these to my relatives. Christmas was always very special at my house. My grandmother lived downstairs and all of my aunts; uncles, and cousins used to come for Christmas Eve. The Polish tradition was to have a large dinner, but we had a wafer in which we all shared and wished each other good health. Unfortunately, when the family passed on, the younger generation did not carry on the tradition.

Jewlery by Linette

Good Monday morning! Well the weekend is behind us, where did it go? I did some reading and rested yesterday. I plan on working in my studio all day today, but before I start, I wanted you to see a necklace set my friend Linette made. She is a dear friend and a very lovely lady.
Linette has given me permission to feature her work on my blog. If you would like to see more of her designs, please go to http://www.beadsbyheart.yolasite.com/ I will be posting some of my new work later on today.

Altered Dominos

Good morning to you all. I am up bright and early this morning and decided to upload my newest project. I am working on my dominos for the upcoming Christmas bazaars. I can tell you all, I am not a beader or have any talent in the jewlery dept. I did have fun with the Ranger inks. It is amazing how they react on the dominos. I plan on finishing this project in the next few days.
Enjoy!!

Where Bloggers Create #2

. These rolls of ribbon are hanging on the outside wall of my studio.

This is the left side of my main work table.

This is the wall in back of my main table. I have a large rack with hooks to hold some of my lace, ribbons, and other items. On the right hand side, I purchased several bath towl racks at the Dollar Store to house my punches. I know, I'm cheap, but my Mommy made me do it!!!!!!!

I will post again tomorrow, must clean the other half of the room!!!!

Where Bloggers Create #1

Hello Bloggers,

I have decided to enter the "Where Bloggers Create" blog party Karen Valentine of My Desert Cottage is hosting the second annual party for all creative bloggers.
I was a bit nerveous as my area is usually a disaster area. I thought that the wonderful ladies that are among the blog world would understand that neatness is not always possible.
My studio is in my basement. My hubby built a separate room for me. It is my little oasis and I love it.

This is my main table. I cleaned it up before I took this picture. It is spacious and I have a TV to the right of this picture. The photo on the wall was purchased at my favorite thrift store for $2.00. How could I let this gem pass me by? I keep a computer on my desk in case I want to watch a You Tube video as a turorial.

This is the rack which is over my table. I bought some black clips from staples and some paper clips and made an area for all of my stickers, hand made flowers, etc. I did not want to pay a fortune for one of the "Clip it Ups.

Since blogger is being a pain, I will add some photos in the next post.

Hello Bloggers!
Today, I entered the Where Bloggers Create over at My Desert cottage. Karen Valentine is hosting the second annual "party" for all creative bloggers. I was very sceptical at first. My space is in my basement and it is usually a disaster area. I am including some pictures (I tided up a bit) I have a few more pics but blogger would not let me upload, so I will upload later
The first picture is the area where my main work table is located. Hubby put the long shelf up for my boxes of my flowers.

Under the shelf, I used some of the black clips from Staples and some paper clips, and used them to hang stickers, hand made flowers, pearl brads etc. off the bottom of the rack. Did not want to spend a fortune on Clip it Up.

Mae West in her glory

Good evening. This post card was a was a swap that I did for AlteredPages.com. We had to use a movie star and I chose Mae West. Boy, was she a character and very much before her time. Some of her quotes are a bit "racy". She was a beautiful woman. Since I was in a quirky mood when I designed this, here it is!!

Something Different

Happy Friday, this week has flown by. I have been working on some fast projects for the upcoming vendor fairs. I wante to make some sympathy cards and this is one that I have come up with. Not vintage, but I wanted to work on something different. I used Stampin Ups' Chocolate chip card stock, cream card stock and Martha Stewart butterfly punches.
I purchased the flower and swirl die at Joan's Garden. This design was something I saw on Kittie Kraft's blog. She is an amazing talented lady. I will show you some more tomorrow.

A Real Vintage Christmas card

This is a Currier & Ives card circa 1927. I used an odd color for the background, but it matched the sky. Then I added a complimentary bow and a pearl brad. Reminds me of the Connecticut winters when I was in grade school. We had so much snow, you could not see accross the street because the snow was piled so high!!! And ladies, we walked to school, no buses and no days off.
Long johns, wool socks and leggings. We looked like fat snow people!!!!!

Back to Work

Good Afternoon, I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend. My husband and I spent the holiday taking it easy. We each have our projects, I have my crafts and Dick is taking an Italian speaking class at the senior center. He enjoys speaking the language, but since his family lives in Mass, he does not get a chance to "practice"
I decided to work on some projects for an upcoming Xmas Bazaar. This is an altered notebook I purchased from the dollar store. I used Le Creme paper, pearls and I utilized some old earrings on the corners. Love that old jewlery. For my flower, I made a chiffon ribbon flower, feathers, and a pearl button center. Oh, so pretty!!
A dear gentileman from my church gave me 3 large boxes of original Christmas cards and so many birthday, anniversary etc. cards from 1924 to 1985. I am working on updating them . What does not sell, I will send out this Christmas.
They are so beautiful!!!! Will be posting samples!!
PS No one came up with the answer on the tag. It is a "sweater guard" circa 1952.
I know, WHAT??? It was used when you put a
sweater over your shoulders and used it to keep it from falling off. Oh dear, my age is showing again!!!!

Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. Here is a patriotic card for you.
Thanks to all of our troops around the world, and to all of our veterans who have served. Without your sacrafice, we would not be free.
Can anyone guess what I used on the bottom of this tag????? Leave a comment!!!
